That is a question commonly asked by our customers here in San Diego. There are many reasons why your air conditioner is blowing warm air but we will focus on a few of the most common reasons.
♦ No power to the outside air conditioning unit. The circuit breaker might have been tripped or the fuse for the AC has blown.
♦ There can also be a restriction of airflow to and from the Air Conditioner that causes the outside air conditioning unit to freeze up. This can be caused by a dirty filter that has not been replaced in a long time or the coils might be dirty and you need your yearly maintenance by professional HVAC contractor .
♦ The Air Conditioning unit is low on refrigerant and needs a professional HVAC contractor to charge the system and check for and repair leaks.
The most important thing as a home owner is to check your filters monthly. And make sure to keep debris such as trim bushes, weeds, tall grass and dirt away from your outside unit this will prevent the outside unit to be clogged by dirt, leaves or debris that can keep your AC from properly running right.
